Bengals spooked in Miami - 11/01/13

It was most definitely Halloween night in Miami. The weird, the wacky, and the spooky were the order of business for the Bengals. Before the game, Andy Dalton was named the AFC Offensive Player of the month. Unfortunately, the month wasnt over and all the good hed done in the previous four games turned wicked in Sun Life Stadium. Dalton was picked off 3 times, once for a 92 yard pick-six, and fumbled once. Oh yeah, and he was sacked in the end zone for a walk-off safety. 22-20 in overtime.

The Bengals had every opportunity to win this one, and they gave the Dolphins every opportunity to win this one. Instead of taking their fifth win in a row, they gave the Dolphins their first win in five games. Giovani Bernard was outstanding with 2 TDs, including a spectacular 35 yard TD that covered about 70 yards.. as pretty a run as youll see. Gio left the game late with a rib injury. Dont know the extent. Worse than that, Geno Atkins left the game with whats believed to be a season-ending ACL tear in his knee. AJ Green caught  11-128 yards, his fourth consecutive game with 100+.

The Bengals trailed 17-3. They roared back to tie it. They were on the verge of winning it before Mo Sanu dropped a sure first down that turned into a pick. The defense held. Over and over. Mike Nugent hit a 54 yarder for the 20-17 lead. The defense allowed a rare long drive for the tying 44 yd. FG. The Bengals were in range to win it in overtime but Mo Sanu dropped another. Marvin Lewis decided to punt instead of trying a 57 yarder (and Nugent had enough leg for it). Then from deep in their own territory, decided to throw it three timesthe final time, the ball never left Daltons hand. Cameron Wake wrapped him up in the end zone and ended the short week.

Let the Friday morning quarterbacking begin.
