So who is responsible for this? The Bengals improved to 4-2 to take a one game lead in the AFC North. It made me wonder who fans believe deserves the credit or the blame.
It's the players who make the record. But of those without a helmet, who deserves your praise? Marvin Lewis? Jay Gruden? Mike Zimmer? Mike Brown?
We asked the question Sunday and the response was overwhelming. My producer told me it would be a landslide. I wasn't so sure. It was a landslide. Defensive Coordinator Zimmer took in 61% of the vote. Offensive Coordinator Gruden got the next 22%. Head Coach Lewis barely outdistanced owner Mike Brown 9% to 8%.
Former Bengals kicker Doug Pelfrey, in our "Who Asked You" segment, actually "blamed" Gruden for the record. With a better offensive scheme and use of the weapons at hand, he believed the Bengals would be a game or two better.
The Cincinnati Enquirer's Richard Skinner believes Marvin should get the credit for drafting and developing talent, as well as reaching out to key free agents that provide major contributions.
A third of the way through the season, the Bengals are primed to make a third consecutive playoff appearance. Who do you think is most responsible for that?
