No reason to talk about the Reds ugliness in St. Louis. It would be beating a dead runner left on base.
So let's go with this. Should Bearcat fans be concerned about not having a starting quarterback on Wednesday before a Saturday opener with Purdue? Or Thursday? Or Friday? Conventional wisdom says if a coach can't name a starting quarterback long before now... he doesn't have a starting quarterback. Maybe it's as simple as that. Maybe Brendon Kay's shoulder makes Tommy hesitant. Maybe Munchie's play makes Tommy hesitant. Maybe coach is playing psychological games because he needs to. Tommy Tuberville's been doing this coaching thing for a while. I'm guessing he has a pretty decent reason for holding off on naming a starter, because coaches like to win. Can playing two quarterbacks all year be the best way for this team to win? Doubtful. It rarely works. I put the question out on twitter yesterday: Who do you want to start, Kay or Munchie? It got very little reaction. Pretty much split between the two, with one vote for "keep waiting." He's the winner. We'll keep waiting. Maybe when it plays out Saturday against Purdue, Tommy will look like a genius.
