Reds did nothing at the trade deadline. GM Walt Jocketty called it the quietest deadline day he's ever been a part of. Talent level too low.. price tags too high. I'm OK with that. Are you?
Jonathan Broxton pitched the opening inning for the Louisville Bats: IP, 3H, 0R, 2K. Ryan Ludwick played 6 innings in the same game: 0-3. 1-9 so far at Louisville. Reds ended their 5 game skid with a 4-1 win over the Padres. They remain 6 games back because the Pirates beat the Cardinals for the 4th straight time with a game to go in that series. The Cardinals have lost 7 straight and now trail Pittsburgh by 2 1/2 games.
