Overnight Strata Sandwiches with Ham and Cheese

INGREDIENTS

18 slices 100% Klosterman Whole Wheat bread

12 slices cooked low sodium ham (divided)

12 slices thinly slice sharp cheddar cheese (divided) or 2 cups of shredded cheese of your choice

2 cups egg substitute

4 cups low fat milk

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/2 cup light mayonnaise

1 Tablespoon onion powder

1 Tablespoon garlic powder

1/4 to 1 Teaspoon hot sauce

Salt & Pepper as needed

DIRECTIONS

In a small bowl mix together mayonnaise and Dijon mustard

Trim crusts (if desired). Make six double decker sandwiches each layered with mayo/Dijon mix, 1 slice of cheese or 1-2 Tablespoons of shredded cheese, 2 slices of ham, 1 slice of cheese or 1-2 Tablespoons of shredded cheese, slice of bread with mayo/Dijon mix. Repeat the order of ingredients for the second layer of the sandwiches. Cut each sandwich into four squares.

Arrange closely in a greased 9" x 13" baking dish.

In a large bowl or 8 cup measure, whisk together egg substitute, milk, salt and pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and hot sauce.

Pour egg mix over sandwiches. Use spatula to press sandwiches to make sure the custard covers and soaks the top slices of bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight or let soak for at least 30 minutes prior to baking.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 45-50 minutes or until puffy and the center is set
