Tours of Abandoned Shillito's to Benefit Cancer Patient

Updated: Friday, October 25 2013, 09:44 AM EDT
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Parts of a historic Cincinnati department store will reopen to the public tonight for the first time in years.

It's part of an event called Miketoberfest, to help a local man battling cancer. This evening, the former Shillito's department store is opening its doors for a Shillito's abandoned tour.

Guests will be allowed to tour the lower levels of the store that has remained largely untouched since the store closed in 1997.

Landor Associates operates in part of the building. Organizers say the proceeds will benefit Mike Amann, a local man battling neuroendocrine cancer. He is the husband of a Landor employee.

Tours are tonight from five to 11. Admission is $15 for the event, which will include live music and food trucks. The Shillito's Abandoned tours will be $10. The event is at the loading docks of Landor Associated at 110 Shillito Place.
