Thank you to the community for making "Grillin' for Tim" a success

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Local 12 wrapped up the first season of Grillin' for Tim and it's been a great effort thanks to the community. On Aug. 4, Local 12 General Manager Jon Lawhead thanked everyone who took part.

When it was suggested the cookouts be renamed Grillin' for Tim, Local 12 spoke with the Hedrick family and the decision was made to keep it going. "It was a way we could remember Tim because he started this way back when and the community really supported it. We were able to partner with Cancer Family Care as the beneficiary of the contributions," said Lawhead.

Local 12 meteorologists and anchors took turns hosting the cookouts, including Bob Herzog, Erica Collura, John Gumm, Cammy Dierking, Scott Dimmich and Brandon Orr.

People had the chance to make contributions in Tim's name. "We appreciate all the help from the community and the generosity and we're pleased to say everybody stepped up." Contributions can still be made to Cancer Family Care.

Tim's family asked Rob Braun to tell the Tri-State thank you on their behalf.
