Health Alert: Blood Pressure Study

Updated: Wednesday, February 5 2014, 10:50 AM EST
CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- This study released just moments ago from the Journal of the American Medical Association, has a new warning if you are younger and have high blood pressure.

We stopped out in Crestview Hills to tell you more.  We are here at the Tri-State Gastroenterology Associates with a patient getting a colonloscopy.

This study actually found those who are younger who develop high blood pressure are at higher risk for heart disease.  Researchers followed 4,700 people. They found people who had high blood pressure for 25 years were more likely to develop heart disease.

What's important researchers say is that even if you start to have numbers climb, getting up over 120 over 80, have a conversation with your doctors and find out how you can keep it at healthy levels. Health Alert: Blood Pressure Study
