Health Alert: Crush Cravings

Updated: Thursday, May 29 2014, 04:47 PM EDT
CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- Getting off the couch could help reduce your urge to splurge.

Medical reporter Liz Bonis shares the findings of a new report.  This report found that fitness can help you crush those cravings.  It is published in Neuro Report.  Local 12 stopped out at the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavillion to tell you more about it.

This research found that when people viewed pictures of cake and burgers and other junk food the regions of their brain would activate less if they were active compared to those that were sedentary.  What this means is if you are exercising it can keep you from the snack attack that usually hits in the afternoon.  You can do that exercise in the a.m. or p.m. but if you are hitting the vending machine the workout might help tackle those signals that are in the brain.
