Health Alert: Dog Walking

CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- Not that you need another excuse to pick up a pet, but if you are thinking of adopting we have one for you!

We stopped out at the SPCA in Sharonville to tell you more about a fitness study that says walking with a pet might help improve some serious health concerns for women.  Previous studies have shown that those who pick up a dog, walk more. Those who walk more, according to this study, have boosted moods as much as if they were taking anti-depressants.  The women were also able to boost sexual desire according to this study.

Researchers found this to be true in women; they found that as little as seven miles a week could make a difference for women who needed to boost mood and desire.  Now to be clear, it's not just the dog or the pet, it's the movement that makes a difference.  Getting out and going for a walk could improve the odds for those dealing with some of these concerns.
