Health Alert: Heel pain

CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- A new report said a simple stretch of the calf could help stop a serious problem that often causes heel pain.

The report stated that foot pain was not normal at any age.  What researchers found was that people often wear footwear in warmer months of the year that was not supportive to the foot.  The foot needs to be supported and when it's not it can lead to foot and heel pain.

They also said stretching that area around the foot or the back of the calf can make a big difference.  Stretch after walking or running. Researchers said the reason the foot or ankle hurts was that people don't do what it takes to stretch the area.

In addition to that, wear a good supportive running shoe when exercising.
