Health Alert: Queen City Blood Drive

Updated: Thursday, August 28 2014, 01:09 PM EDT
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Hundreds have already stopped downtown Wednesday for the Queen City Blood Drive at the Duke Energy Center.

Anyone can visit the blood drive to donate until 7 p.m. Donors can expect to receive many free donation incentives but more importantly the drive helps to re-establish the community's blood supply.

Donations for blood drives see a decrease in participation over the summer, as many potential donors are on vacation. This causes a great need for donations moving towards the holiday weekend.  Donors can looks forward to free food, snacks, and bags that rival gift bags from golf tournaments!

There are contributions from several sponsors including the Cincinnati Reds, LaRosa's Pizza, The Running Spot and more.

Donors can also expect to find reward in the fact that their donation can be used to great effect in the community, and that their selfless action may save lives.
