Health Alert: Veggie weight loss

Updated: Friday, March 28 2014, 04:40 PM EDT
CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) --  If you are trying to shape up for spring this new report found you may want to reduce the meat and eat more veggies.

We stopped out at Group Health in Kenwood to talk to experts at Tri-Health and tell you more about this research.  It comes from researchers at the University of South Carolina.  They found that after following people who added vegetables they lost more weight than those who did not.

Those who followed a vegan or vegetarian diet actually lost twice as much weight as those who ate meat during the study.  Now it doesn't mean that you don't or shouldn't eat meat at all, but it does lend more evidence to those who shift the plate.  Less meat, three quarters fruits and veggies, or at lease a few more meatless meals.
