Donate blood to help pets with "Bark Week"
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Hoxworth Blood Centers is putting out the message that you can help save lives and help animals during “Bark Week.”
There are vet centers that take animal blood donations, to help animals, but this is different. It allows blood donors to donate blood that helps people and Hoxworth will donate money to help pets.
Bark Week starts on Monday, runs all next week. For every donor who gives blood or platelets Hoxworth will donate five dollars to the animal charity of the donor’s choice.
Ballots will be available at each of Hoxworth’s seven neighborhood donor centers.
They list a number of local centers, all of which serve animals in a very unique way.
Charities on the ballot include “Adore-a-Bull Rescue”, “Care Center Animal Blood Bank”, “Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden,” “Hart Homeless Animals Rescue Team”, “SPCA Cincinnati”, “Save the Animals Foundation”, and “Tails of Hope”.
Donors have the option to write in a charity.
