Fighting the flu: Wash your hands and get a flu shot
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Flu season runs November through March and when people travel they share germs.
There's already been a school closing in Silver Grove, Kentucky in hopes of reducing the spread of the disease. They reportedly had all kinds of illnesses circulating and a few isolated cases of confirmed flu.
Infectious disease researchers at the University of Cincinnati say there is a new push to remind people that to avoid getting sick, you need to stay away from sick people, wash your hands and keep your immune system strong with a healthy lifestyle.
But there is also a push to remind people that it's not too late to get a flu shot vaccine.
“I think the flu vaccine is one of the most important vaccines we have, in helping to protect our community in saving lives,” said UC’s Dr. Carl Fichtenbaum.
