CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A new study says there is a way to reduce the odds of eating too much at holiday parties this year.
Chances are when you go to your holiday party you're not going to overindulge on stuff like salad. But if you want to enjoy the party and limit the how much you eat, a new study from the online journal PLOS One found all you need to do is back away from the buffet.
Researchers found staying a good distance from the festive food tables helps you avoid overeating.
When two groups of people were compared, those who stayed 20 feet away from the food ate at least 200 calories less during the event.
That might not seem like a lot, but dropping 200 calories a day can help you lose up to 20 pounds in a year.
