Importance of where and how babies sleep during the holidays
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - An important reminder from public health specialists in the community about the importance of where and how babies sleep.
Big concerns Tuesday, December 20, as kids head to other homes for the holidays. It means babies may be sleeping in beds and in places not their own and not at home. The Cincinnati Health Department reminded parents at a news conference babies need to sleep alone, on their backs and in a crib.
The Tri-State had a drop in infant deaths related to sleep problems in the last few years. They also were offering a free pack and play and some other great stuff to new parents.
Tamika Gray of the Cincinnati Health Department said, “We also give them this survival video a safe sleep book. They can read to baby, a crib sheet, a pacifier, and my favorite, a ‘This Side Up’ onesy. And being that it is wintertime this comes in handy, and this is the sleep sack.”
