Local man biking across the country to benefit brain cancer research
CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A cross country bike rider who is traveling to benefit brain tumor research arrives in Cincinnati on Thursday.
Peter Carr is from Cincinnati and he is cycling across the country to raise money for a cause near and dear to his heart.
His mom, Jenny, recently passed away from GBM or glioblastoma. That's the same brain cancer that Senator John McCain is fighting.
Carr started cycling in Maine about a month ago. He will end up at the 50 West Brewery on Thursday night.
Carr's mom wrote a children's book as a tribute to the treatment team that helped her at the Mayfield Clinic in Cincinnati.
She was a teacher and the book was called Vincent the Dragon Slayer. Dr. Vince Dinapoli was her neurosurgeon.
