Local school reports case of whooping cough
SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WKRC) - A local school reported a case of whooping cough.
The Springboro Schools said a case has been identified at Springboro High School. The Warren County Health Department is recommending parents keep an eye on their kids and take anyone with a prolonged cough to the doctor.
Whooping cough or pertussis can be especially dangerous in young children because severe coughing spells can make them stop breathing.
Health officials said Ohio has seen an increase in the number of whooping cough cases statewide in 2017.
