MESA, Ariz. (WKRC) - A text message to the wrong person turned the mistake into a holiday tradition for two people in Mesa, Arizona, reports KXAN.

In 2016, Wanda Dench thought she was texting an invite to her grandson, but instead, she sent the message to Jamal Hinton.

Hinton asked if she would have him over for dinner anyway, and Dench agreed, saying that's what grandmas do: Feed everybody.

Dench has given Hinton an open invitation to come over for Thanksgiving every year, and he joined her again this year.
