Pizza Hut and Toyota working on self-driving delivery trucks
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Pizza Hut hopes it can one day bring you pizza to your door with a driverless vehicle.
Pizza Hut is teaming up with Toyota who unveiled a concept vehicle called e-Palette at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Pizza Hut posted a photo of the concept vehicle to Twitter saying:
Introducing the first Pizza Hut fully autonomous delivery concept vehicle. Excited for our future with @Toyota #CES2018
The e-Palette will come in lengths of 13 to 23 feet.
Amazon and Uber have also partnered with Toyota on the concept.
CNN Money reports that the company plans to pilot the technology at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Tests in the U.S. and other areas are envisioned for the early 2020s.
Toyota is investing $1 billion into self-driving technology.
