Ship washes ashore with skeletons on board
OGA CITY, Japan (WKRC) - Eight dead bodies washed ashore the coast of Oga City, Japan on board a drifting wooden ship Monday, according to TV Asahi.
It's unclear where the ship came from, but it's believed to be from North Korea.
It's the fourth ship to wash up on Japan's west coast this month. Some others had bodies on board as well while 11 North Koreans were rescued from two of those boats.
Boats washing ashore is reminiscent of 2015 when more than a dozen "ghost ships" were discovered with bodies on board.
At that time, experts said the bodies could be those of refugees or fishermen.
