VIDEO: Man leads police on chase from Kentucky to southern Indiana

An epic police chase saw officers pursue a suspect wanted in connection to a string of purse thefts across two states and three counties (WLKY/CNN Newsource)

CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) - An epic police chase saw officers pursue a suspected thief across two states and three counties, as shown in a video posted by WLKY.

Louisville police tried to stop Robert G. Ellis II just before 5 p.m. on Thursday. Ellis took off and led police on a 30-minute chase into Southern Indiana.

Ellis was wanted in connection to a string of purse thefts.

Video of the chase shows Ellis weaving through traffic at high speeds, driving off-road through grass and on sidewalks, cutting through the campus of Indiana University Southeast while being chased by at least 10 cruisers, and finally ending in a cornfield in Clark County.

Ellis was aggressively swarmed by the officers as he tried to exit the truck.

According to police, they found dozens of purses in his vehicle.
