On August 6th in 1911, Lucille Ball was born in Jamestown, New York. She was an American comedienne, model, film and TV actress most famous for her starring role on the hit TV show, "I Love Lucy". Follow the LINK for a memorable moment from her beloved show.

On this day in 1945, the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Codenamed "Little Boy", the bomb killed 80,000 people outright and another 60,000 by the end of the year from fallout sickness. When all was said and done, over 200,000 people died due to the atomic bomb.
