Disney Channel's first openly gay couple
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Disney Channel is catching heat from the American Family Association for incorporating "LGBT content" on the network.
The Disney Channel show, "Good Luck Charlie," is in its final season, and are introducing a lesbian couple on the show as the "two moms" of one of the main characters' friends.
The couple will only appear on one show because the show is ending, but American Family Association's One Million Moms says one is too much.
"This is the last place a parent would expect their children to be confronted with topics that are too difficult for them to understand," the group said in a press release. "Mature issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon, and it is extremely unnecessary."
