Guide dogs bring blind couple together
LONDON (WKRC) -- Claire Johnson, 50, and Mark Gaffey, 51, went to a guide dog training course. While there, it became clear very quickly to the British owners that their dogs, Rodd and Venice, had "fallen in love," London's Metro reported.
"Our dogs were the (classic) love story," Johnson told the newspaper. "Everyone used to joke about how Mark's dog Rodd and my dog Venice were meant to be together."
Johnson and Gaffey couldn't bear to keep the two separate, so they started meeting up for play dates so that their dogs could see each other.
What also became clear was that Johnson and Gaffey were also meant to be together. Play dates turned into real dates, and the two blind dog owners fell in love with each other.
Two years after meeting, the couple married this month after Gaffey proposed on Valentine's Day.
