1789- The US House of Representatives hold its first meeting.

1913- The Seventeenth amendment is ratified.  It requires direct election of senators.

1960- John Schneider, best known as "Bo" from "Dukes of Hazzard" is born.

1962- Bay of Pigs invaders get 30 years imprisonment in Cuba.

1964- The Supremes record "Where Did Our Love Go."  The song became their first number one single.

2001- Microsoft Corp. released Internet Explorer 6.0
