1620- The Mayflower reaches Provincetown, MA.  The Pilgrims reach Plymouth, MA on December 26, 1920.

1783- First successful flight in a hot air balloon by pilots Francois Pilatre de Rosier, Marquis d'Arlandes and Francois Laurent.

1789- North Carolina becomes the 12th state to ratify the U.S. Constitution.

1934- NY Yankees purchase Joe DiMaggio from San Francisco.

1934- "Anything Goes" the musical opens.

1963- President John F. Kennedy and wife, Jacqueline, arrive in San Antonio, TX. 

1975- Elton John receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

1983- Movie theaters in Los Angeles premier Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video.
