1746- The College of New Jersey is chartered.  It later becomes known as Princeton University.

1934- Charles "Pretty Boy" Floyd, a famous bank robber, is shot and killed in Ohio.

1959- "Take Me Along" opens on Broadway.

1966- "Good Vibrations" is released by The Beach Boys.

1974- "Hotter Than Hell" is released by KISS.

1976- Keith Moon performs for the last time with The Who.
