1782- Great Seal of US is used for the first time.

1908: William Crapo Durant forms General Motors by merging Buick and Olds car companies.

1956- Play-Doh makes its world debut.

1963- "The Outer Limits" premiers on ABC.

1965- "The Dean Martin Show" premiers NBC.

1968- "The Andy Griffith Show" is shown for the final time on CBS.

1970- Jimi Hendrix makes his final public appearance with Eric Burdon and War at a club in London.

1985- KISS releases their album, "Asylum."

1998- Universal pays $9 million dollars for the rights to Dr. Seuss' classics, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Oh, the Places You'll Go."
