Tallest waterslide in the world set to open
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WKRC) -- "Verrukt," which translates into "insane" in German, is being touted as the world's tallest waterslide. It's 264 steps (or 17 stories) to the top of the new structure at Schlitterbahn in Kansas City, Kansas.
The previous record was "Insano" in Brazil, which is 134 and a half feet tall.
For those daring enough to ride, "Verrukt" can reportedly achieve speeds of 65 miles per hour. Rather than individual riders hurtling to the bottom, four-person inflatable rafts will be used.
The park is expected to open May 23rd.
