Toy company on mission to inspire next generation of female engineers
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Debbie Sterling, Inventor and CEO of GoldieBlox, is working to break down gender stereotypes with her new construction toy for girls.
"In a world where men largely outnumber women in science, technology, engineering and math... girls lose interest in these subjects as early as age 8", the GoldieBlox website States.
Sterling's goal is to disrupt the pink aisle and inspire young females to take on an interest in these subjects by putting a girly spin on boy toys.
Sterling raised over $285,000 on kickstarter.com to launch her product and is now a competing finalist for a Super Bowl commercial spot.
