U.K. school bans red ink, considered negative color

UNDATED (WKRC) -- A U.K. school banned teachers from marking in red pen because it is considered a negative color.

Teachers have been told to use green pens instead. Students are asked to comment with purple pens.

According to the Daily Mail, the new system is meant to encourage dialogue between the teachers and students.

Teachers are also encouraged to make two or three positive comments about homework.

According to the campaign for Real Education, students like red ink because it makes their teacher's comments easier to read.
