Driver killed after car collides with school bus in Edgewood

UPDATE 9:25am:

A women who had just left work at the Waffle House in Edgewood, Ky. is dead after colliding with a bus and SUV.

Witnesses tell Local 12 that a mother of 4 children pulled out in front of a bus on 3L Highway and Dudley. Her car hit the bus and then collided with an SUV head-on.

We will provide any more details when they become available.


UPDATE 8:55am:

The driver of the car has died. Four kids were on the bus, but they are not injured. The driver of the school bus and the bus monitor are okay, but undergoing further evaluation.

Witnesses tell Local 12 the female victim was a Waffle House employee. She was leaving work. Waffle House just opened this week.
Witnesses say she pulled out in front of the bus. The bus swerved to miss her, but she hit an SUV head-on. There is no update on the driver of the SUV.


Edgewood, Ky. (WKRC) -- A school bus and a car collide in Edgewood Thursday morning. Crews are working to rescue the car's driver at the scene on 3L Highway and Dudley. There are no reports of any injuries on the bus. One lane is open in each direction.
