High amount of workers to seek new jobs in 2014

Updated: Friday, November 22 2013, 02:15 PM EST
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Thinking about a new job next year? You aren't alone.

In an online poll done by Right Management, 83-percent of North American employees plan to pursue new job opportunities.

"These numbers should signal a wake-up call for top management, when four out of five employees say they intend to look for employment elsewhere," said Scott Ahlstrand, Right Management's leader for employee engagement, in a press release. "Employers must act now to engage top talent and prevent them from leaving for the competition."

Nearly 900 workers from the U.S. and Canada participated in the online poll. The survey shows that only 5% of employees intend to stay in their current position.

In 2012, 86-percent of workers were actively seeking new employment.

The survey was conducted via an online poll conducted between October 16 and November 15.High amount of workers to seek new jobs in 2014
