Hundreds Watch Annual Price Hill Parade

Updated: Friday, November 29 2013, 09:48 PM EST
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- West-siders pack the streets on Thanksgiving, to celebrate a holiday tradition. People came from all over to watch the 23rd annual Price Hill Thanksgiving Day parade. Larry Davis was among them.

Every Thanksgiving, people put the cooking on hold for awhile to check out the traditional parade. Despite wind chills in the teens, hundreds lined Glenway Avenue for the parade.

Mayor-elect John Cranley, who is a Price Hill native, was grand marshal of the parade. There were bands and floats. Police and Fire were represented, as well as Price Hill businesses and organizations.

Some people say they'll never miss this parade. "Even though it's cold, it's a family tradition, been doing it for years. No matter what you do you always come back to home and always come back to what you're familiar with, and this is it right here," says Ginger Khrissi. Ken Gaynor is also a fan, "it shows the community still comes out. It's a good response with the police and fire department. I think it helps the community get together and see that it's doing ok."

More entertainment and activities followed at the St. Lawrence Church. The new edition of the parade is 23 years old. The parade originally started in 1929.
