Weather Alert

We are seeing record cold this morning as we dropped to 0 breaking an old record of 2 from 1960. Also watch for areas of freezing fog near the rivers as this bitter cold air interacts with the warmer river water. This fog could make for slick spots on roads next to area rivers.

Updated: Monday, November 25 2013, 02:55 PM EST
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A local veteran was honored Monday morning by the French government,  for helping to liberate France during World War II.

88-year old Robert Zwick was presented a French Legion of Honor medal in a ceremony at St. William Church  in Price Hill, where Zwick is a parishioner.

Zwick grew up in Price Hill and joined the army in 1943, right after graduating from high school. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and was also in the first American unit to reach and free the Dachau concentration camp.

Zwick said he was humbled by the award he received this morning, "I just want to say I love everyone at this awesome assembly and may God bless the United States of America."

We'll have more on this member of the greatest generation, including his message to the students in today's audience, on Local 12 News at six.Local WWII Vet Honored by the French
