Man Makes Donation to Good Samaritan

Updated: Wednesday, December 4 2013, 10:05 PM EST
OAKLEY, Ohio (Angela Ingram) -- A man touched by the compassion of a good Samaritan decides to help.

Monday night Local 12 told you about how a man, known for his random acts of kindness, was robbed.  A viewer saw that story and wanted to replace items stolen from the man.

Denver Jones is relearning the curves and corners of his own basement.
His life has changed dramatically over the past year.  He lost his sight after glaucoma, operations, and a procedure called a "vitrectomy."

"Which is where they take the jelly out of the back of the eye. Over the course of the next few days with a few follow-up procedures in the office, I completely loss my vision."
Monday night, Denver and his wife, Connie, were listening to the news; listening to how a good Samaritans tools were stolen from his pick-up truck.
The businessman called, "Bob," is known in the area for using those tools to help stranded drivers he spots along the highway.
Denver immediately wanted to donate his basement tools to Bob.

"I hope that he continues doing the good work that he was doing.  Its what I wanted to do.  I think it's what should be done and it's what we need more of."
Denver no longer has use for the tools since he lost his vision.  The former mechanic can't do what he was good at doing, diagnosing vehicle troubles, and fixing them with his prized tool kits.

"Four tool boxes and three carrying bags."
Tuesday night, Denver and Bob spoke on the phone, working out a plan to meet, for Denver's tools to find a new home.
And for Denver, this is a chance to help a stranger; something that he's wanted to do for a long time.

"I'm a convicted felon and I'm a recovering addict and because of all my flaws in character, I took a lot away from society and I just have had this urge to give back and have been unsuccessful up to now and so I just want to give back.  I want to do some good out of all of the bad that I've done, even if it's just a little."
