Ohio House Considers "Stand Your Ground" Gun Bill

Updated: Wednesday, November 20 2013, 10:45 PM EST
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) -- Opponents of a gun bill before the Ohio House are flooding the governor's phone lines in hopes he'll take their side.

The bill includes a stand your ground defense, similar to the one that led to George Zimmerman's acquittal in last year's shooting death of an unarmed teen in Florida.

Ohio opponents say the self defense proposal would increase the chances of violence against black teens.

The measure is likely to pass the Ohio House when lawmakers take it to a full vote that could happen as early as Wednesday.

The bill also eases certain rules on carrying concealed weapons.
