P.G. Sittenfeld Says He'll Vote to Continue Streetcar

Updated: Tuesday, November 26 2013, 08:56 AM EST
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Re-elected Cincinnati city council member P.G. Sittenfeld announced Tuesday that he plans to vote to keep streetcar construction going. Sittlenfeld, who was the top council vote-getter, is considered a swing vote.

Monday, council's budget committee approved an ordinance to continue work on the project. The ordinance has enough votes to pass full council. That means the incoming council and Mayor-elect John Cranley will have to take another vote to stop work on the streetcar.

Council heard yesterday from the chief counsel for the Federal Transit Administration, who said all federal funds will have to be returned to the government. It can not be used for another project.

The newly elected council members and John Cranley will be sworn-in on Sunday.P.G. Sittenfeld Says He'll Vote to Continue Streetcar
