Restaurant Owner Fails to Show at Arson Sentencing

Updated: Tuesday, December 3 2013, 05:43 PM EST
CLIFTON HEIGHTS, Ohio (WKRC) -- A man who admits to blowing up his restaurant is a no show in court, leading to concerns that he may have fled the country.

Airman Arabeiat is facing eight years in prison.  When he did not appear for Tuesday's sentencing, a judge issued a warrant for Arabeiat's arrest.

Arabeiat's attorney says his client had surrendered his passport, but the passport was issued by his native Jordan, therefor it's possible it was reported lost and Jordan replaced it.

Arabeiat suffered second degree burns in the blast at Jerusalem Restaurant in Clifton Heights.

Investigators say he set gasoline on fire in the basement. Restaurant Owner Fails to Show at Arson Sentencing
