Ski Season Begins at Perfect North

Updated: Friday, November 29 2013, 11:17 PM EST
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (Scott Dimmich) -- It's time to shake off the turkey hangover and strap into your skis and snowboards. The Perfect North Slopes ski season kicked off Friday and people headed for the hills. Local12's Scott Dimmich has  the opening day fun from Lawrenceburg.

There's a lot of snow and the sun is shining. Chip Perfect of Perfect North says in the ski spot's 34 years, they've only been able to open in November three or four times and they've never had so much snow.

Temperatures will climb into the 50s in the coming week. Even so, Chip says they should have snow. They say once it's made, it maintains itself very well.  Right now about 70 percent of the runs are open. Some of the tubing lanes are also open. They anticipate a busy weekend.
Depending on conditions, Perfect North Slopes expects to be open both Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 in the morning to 9:30 at night.
