US Pregnancy Rates Fall

Updated: Sunday, December 8 2013, 09:29 AM EST
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- New Numbers from the CDC reveal that fewer women in the US are having children.

Between 2000 and 2009, pregnancy rates for US women fell by 12%, or nearly 6.4 million pregnancies.

It's the lowest rate in 12 years.

For teenage pregnancy, the rates reached historic lows in 2009.  While pregnancy rates for women under 30 fell, rates for women older than 30 have increased steadily since 1990.

The number of women between the ages of 35 to 39 becoming pregnant jumped by 30% since 1990.US Pregnancy Rates Fall
