Adam Clements asks basketball fans in Indianapolis: What's a "Norse?"
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WKRC) - If you live in the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati area, you most likely know about a local college in Highland Heights called "Northern Kentucky University" or NKU.
If you do know about them, then you more than likely know they managed to be invited to the prestigious NCAA Tournament on their first year of eligibility!
That means on Friday, NKU will face off against the University of Kentucky (a #2 seed) in what will be known as the "Bluegrass Battle."
So, all that being said, do you know what the mascot of NKU is? Here's a hint, they are called the "Norse."
If you guessed a "viking" then congrats! That's pretty close.
You may be more familiar with "Norse Mythology" which includes "Thor, the God of Thunder," "Loki, God of Mischief," and "Odin, the All-father."
If those don't ring a bell, then just go back to thinking about vikings.
Vikings is seriously really close.
