Boxer Adrien Broner arrested in a shot-up SUV for open warrant
COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) - Boxer Adrian Broner was arrested by Covington Police Wednesday night. This was after someone fired shots at him in his SUV in Cincinnati.
Cincinnati Police say an altercation started at a bar on Queen City Avenue. Shots were then fired on West McMicken. Police say they don't know who fired the shots but several of them damaged Broner's SUV.
Police say Broner was then driving through Covington at a high rate of speed. When they stopped him, officers learned Broner had a warrant out for a failure to appear in court on an OVI charge.
He was released around 5 a.m. after posting a bond of $503.
Broner has been in trouble with the law before.
In 2016, he was arrested for felonious assault and aggravated robbery after an incident outside Madison Bowl. Those charges were eventually dismissed but not before Broner failed to show up to court on time and spent 30 days in jail.
