2018 Opening Day Parade will not be on Reds opening day
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The long-standing Queen City tradition of the Findlay Market Opening Day Parade will not be held on the Reds 2018 opening day.
The parade association announced Wednesday that it will be held on Monday, April 2, which is the date of the Reds fourth game of the season.
Major League Baseball made the decision to start the season a few days earlier this season. The Reds will start the season at home on Thursday, March 28.
That date conflicts with the Easter holiday season and Holy Thursday is one of the busiest days of the year for Findlay Market.
The market normally has to close for the parade and did not want to close for such a big business day.
