Annual DAV 5K to be held at Sawyer Point on Veterans Day
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Nov. 11 is Veteran's Day when we thank the men and women who have served our country.
One way many will be doing that is by attending the Annual Disabled American Veterans 5K.
WGRR invited Local 12's Megan Moore to their studio Friday morning to talk about the event during their radiothon.
"If you go to WGRR's website, there's a donate button there to click and make contributions to help our disabled veterans," said Laura Rusche, National Race Director for the DAV.
The race started in 2013 in Cincinnati and has expanded to six different cities across the country over the last five years.
It will be held on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11 at 9 a.m.
"If anyone gets involved with that, just come down to Sawyer Point starting at 7 a.m. (Saturday) morning and the race will start at 9 a.m.," said Rusche.
DAV has more than a million members across the country.
