Police identify body found in Colerain Township creek (WKRC)

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - At least one person was found dead in a creek in Colerain Township Monday, according to the Colerain Fire Department.

Police have identified the victim as 23-year-old Makenzie Flowers of Colerain Township. Flowers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Capatain Shane Packard said a car was found on its top in a creek at the 6100 block of Blue Rock Road Monday morning. The Hamilton County Coroner's office says at least one victim was recovered from the vehicle.

Authorities also said the creek was at least three or four feet deep, and police believe the car had been there for one or two days.

Initial investigation indicates that the vehicle that Flowers had been driving drove off the right side of the road and into a tree, flipping it. The vehicle then went into a retaining wall and dropped into a creek below.

Flowers was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and speed is considered a factor according to a press release from Colerain Police.

The crash remains under investigation.
