Bond set for former cop accused of trying to stab, kill ex-girlfriend
SYMMES TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A local man faced a judge Saturday morning, accused of trying to stab and kill his ex-girlfriend after she broke up with him.
David Mueller, 45, is being charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Hamilton county deputies were called to Jamie Gibson's home on Vauk Valley Lane in Symmes Township early Friday morning. They found Gibson outside of the home bleeding heavily, and she told deputies her attacker was trying drive away.
Gibson also told them she broke up with Mueller, but she allowed him to stay at her home because he had been drinking. She then said she woke up to find Mueller next to her, holding a butcher knife and stabbing her several times.
Investigators said Mueller stabbed her in the back, legs and torso as she tried to get away.
Deputies say Mueller has a previous manslaughter conviction while working as a police officer in New Vienna, Ohio. He was sentenced to six years in prison for killing a man during a domestic violence call in 2002.
Mueller is currently in the Hamilton County Jail.
