Cincinnati might have just gained a Fortune 500 company

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) - Greater Cincinnati payments processor Vantiv Inc. has completed its acquisition of a British-based company in a deal that should move it onto the vaunted Fortune 500 list.

Symmes Township-based Vantiv (NYSE: VNTV) acquired London-based Worldpay Group for 8 billion British pounds, which comes to $11 billion.

Vantiv changed its name to Worldpay Inc. (NYSE: WP) and now trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol WP.

Worldpay continues to be based in the Cincinnati suburb of Symmes Township, where Vantiv’s headquarters are now located. The company’s international headquarters are in London, where Worldpay was based.
